Quick Pic: Fort Street Cafe Pad Thai with Garlic Chicken

Umami used to go to this place when he worked at 1132 Bishop (it's just across Fort Street Mall).  He always like the food quality and value, but since it's a bit of a walk now, he doesn't get there as frequently as before.

Every once in a while, though, he swings by for their daily special Pad Thai with Garlic Chicken ($6).  The pad thai is plenty tasty by itself, and the garlic chicken is sweetly garlicky.  Comes with garnishes on the side (lime, cilantro, peanuts).  Hit it with some Sriracha and it's a very flavorful lunch indeed.

Breakfast is really good deal for local style plates (rice, eggs, meat) all around $3, but Umami really likes the fried rice with an egg (and sriracha, for about $4).

Be warned, though, because it's so near Hawaii Pacific University and because the food is so inexpensive, there can be a bit of a line at lunchtime.  Plan accordingly.
