La Taqueira de Ramiro

Umami's friend, Trish, really likes Mexican food so, having visited Maria Bonita a couple of weeks ago, this time decided on a little place on Fort Street Mall called La Taqueira de Ramiro.  It is a very straightforward Mexican fast food place, with burritos and enchilada plates.  Umami and Trish both opted for the fried burrito plate, wet ($7.50).
Fried Burrito, Wet
You get your choice of filling (Trish = carnitas, Umami = chile verde) in a large flour tortilla that is then fried on a griddle, not deep fried.  Plate includes the red sauce (i.e. "wet"), rice, your choice of black beans, pinto beans or refried beans, large scoops of salsa, guacamole, sour cream, and a drizzle of hot sauce (optional).  All very good and a tremendous value.
Chile Verde, Interior
A plate could easily be shared by two people.  Trish very sensibly saved half of hers for "later."  Umami powered through and was very nearly senseless later (but he perservered).  Maybe next time he'll try the vegetarian option.  And maybe go a little earlier, as the place gets crowded and seating is limited.
